At our shop, absolutely. Our piercers (& everyone that works here) MUST have a current bloodborne pathogens training certificate, current First Aid & CPR training, & our autoclave is tested weekly – which is above the monthly standard required by Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) Requirements.
We take great pride in cleanliness & safety for both YOU, the client, & for our piercing staff. We adhere to strict protocols to avoid any & all cross-contamination & we provide new, sterile, disposable needles for every client.
You will witness the piercing needles opened in front of you prior to your service, as well as their disposal into a regulated sharps container immediately upon completion of your piercing to ensure they are never used again.
We work closely with the Michigan Department of Health & Human Services (MDHHS) & the Ingham County Health Department to ensure that our methods comply with (or exceed!) the most current guidelines.
Yes, piercings hurt a little – but more than anything it’s just a quick pinch & you’re done.
Pain is relative & everyone has a different tolerance. But rest assured, people would not be returning again & again for piercing after piercing if it hurt that bad.

The studio’s piercing AGE POLICY is as follows:
Age 12 & Under: Earlobes Only (18g or 16g only).
Age 12 & Older: Earlobes (18g or 16g only).
Age 13 & older: Helix (upper rim of ear cartilage).
Age 14 & older: All of the above, plus Nostril, Navel, Labret, Eyebrow & Earlobes up to 12g only.
Age 16-17: All of the above, plus all other Ear Cartilage, Monroe & Earlobe Stretching Larger than 12g.
Age 18 +: All of the above, plus Surface Anchors, Lip, Medusa, Tongue, Nipple & Genital.
For client’s under 18 years of age: Your parent or legal guardian MUST accompany you to the appointment, and remain on the premises for the entire procedure.
Surface Anchors, Lip, Medusa, Tongue, Nipple & Genital piercings will NOT be performed on anyone under 18 years of age…ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS! (so please don’t make it awkward by asking – the answer is no, always.)

There’s really no cut-&-dry answer to this question. But as the ‘ole saying goes: “good work ain’t cheap & cheap work ain’t good!”
We understand cost can be a concern – but it shouldn’t be the determining factor in your decision to get pierced. ALWAYS look for QUALITY…& be willing to pay for it.
A diamond – and a tattoo – are forever…but so is Hepatitis & MRSA. So if someone quotes you a price “on the low” make sure that the quality of jewelry & standard of cleanliness (your health & safety) are not going to be sacrificed.
ALWAYS get pierced at a licensed facility! It is ILLEGAL to be pierced anywhere else (like someone’s home, a house party, dorm room, outdoor event, etc.) -unless the piercer has been fully inspected, approved & has received a license from the Health Department.
Our Piercing Fees are as follows:
Ear Lobe (18g thru 12g) : $40 + Jewelry
Minor Ear Lobe (18g & 16g ONLY): $40 + Jewelry
Ear Lobe (up to 10g & larger) : $40 per lobe + Jewelry
Industrial: $50 + Jewelry
Surface Anchor: $50-per anchor + Jewelry
Surface Anchor Removal: $50 per anchor
Genital: $60 + Jewelry
MULTI-PIERCING DISCOUNT: For clients receiving multiple piercings: the 1st piercing fee is full price & each additional piercing fee is ½ off. Piercings must be done on the same person in (1) sitting. Jewelry is purchased separately.
Every Wednesday is BUY 1-GET 1 FREE PIERCING FEES on most piercings!
Exceptions are Industrials & Surface Anchors, which are Buy 1 – Get 1 1/2 Off. Jewelry is purchased separately.

Anyone that does not have the anatomy to be pierced & heal that piercing safely.
Sunburned or otherwise damaged/compromised skin
Anyone that is pregnant or breast feeding
Anyone that is intoxicated
Anyone that is a being a jerk (don’t be a jerk )
There are restrictions post-piercing as well. Each area of the body heals a bit differently, so we will provide you with comprehensive written care instructions that spell out everything you need to know. If you follow them, your piercing will heal as quickly & hassle-free as possible Yay.
Your new piercing is technically a clean puncture wound, so use common sense & don’t expose it to any unnecessary lotions, creams, ointments, chemicals, bacteria, dirt, direct sunlight, etc.
ALWAYS wash your hands BEFORE & AFTER touching your piercing while it is in the healing phase!!
We absolutely, positively NOT do piercing that:
Aren’t safe
Won’t fit your anatomy & heal properly
Are on any person visibly intoxicated
Aren’t covered by insurance
Are on assholes…figuratively & literally
If we chose to refuse any service, we WILL, however, advise you of our reasoning along with any potential problems & longevity issues that may arise from your decision to have that particular piercing performed.

Not only is this practice ILLEGAL in the State of Michigan – underground body piercing (& tattooing) is the epitome of unprofessional & unethical practice – the majority of the time it’s also unsanitary (putting your health & safety at risk)….gross.
Most people ask about this because they think it would be cheaper than going to a licensed studio. Ummm, no. In order for a professional piercer to create a suitable, sanitary environment (& have it be worth their while), it’d actually cost you MORE.
Not only is cleanliness & infection control severely compromised in this scenario, odds are that lighting will be inadequate, furniture will not create the proper body positioning necessary to get a good result, & it’s just something that any true professional would not be willing to do….period.
If you find someone willing, be wary! Guaranteed they’re in it for the quick money & give zero fu##ks about your health & safety, nor the quality of the jewelry or the piercing. – There’s gotta be a reason why they haven’t been successful in a licensed shop & have to resort to going underground. Piercers that can’t get hired at a reputable studio often resort to this. It’s gross & it tarnishes the entire industry. Think about it
If you’d like to do an event involving multiple people for a birthday, bachelor/ette party, memorials, frat initiations, etc. – call us ahead of time & we’ll be more than happy to make arrangements to accommodate your party properly at the shop. We can even arrange for on-site catering, etc.
