Splash of Color is located on the upper level of 515 E Grand River Ave in downtown East Lansing, Michigan – directly across from Michigan State University (on the block between Division St & Bailey St.)
An elevator is available at the rear entrance.
Parking is available directly behind our building in the Bailey Street lot (on the corner of Baily & Albert). Additional parking is available in the colorful Division Street Ramp (on the corner of Division & Albert) or on any side street.
So come in & hang out! We validate parking with any purchase or service.
We are open 12pm to 8pm Monday thru Saturday & 12pm to 6pm on Sunday.
Holiday hours vary, so it’s always best to call ahead.
Due to state mandate, ALL SERVICES MUST BE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY (even jewelry sales) – so for the time being, we will not be able to accept any walk-ins.
This is a HUGE change for us & we hope this requirement will only be temporary…but for now we must abide.
Though tipping is customary, it is not mandatory & is completely up to you. The idea behind tipping your tattoo artist or piercer is to reward excellent service & say “thank you – it’s worth what I paid & more.”
If you feel as though your tattoo artist or piercer exceeded expectations & really made the whole experience great for you, then tipping is a most excellent way of showing appreciation.
But please avoid putting us on the spot by asking “how much is a good tip?” It’s awkward.
Base your decision to tip (or not to tip) on how satisfied you are with the overall service & quality of product you receive. Then choose the amount of tip (if any) on what you can afford. While large cash tips are always a treat, any gesture of kindness is greatly appreciated.
Tacos, coffee & cookies are also wonderful & appreciated ways to “tip.”
There are only two accepted forms of payment:
CASH
or Credit Card*
*convenience fee applies
No checks…ever…period.
YES, we do!! In any denomination you choose.
And might we say, what a thoughtful gift that will be cherished forever!
If you have an appointment & you’re feeling ill, pleeeease call & reschedule for a time when you’ll be feeling well again.
Getting tattooed or pierced while your immune system isn’t at 100% is never a good idea…ever.
Your body needs its strength & white blood cells to heal that new tattoo or piercing- something it won’t be able to do as effectively if it’s already battling against a virus or bacteria in your system.
Plus, it’s quite inconsiderate (& gross) to bring your illness into the studio & risk passing germs onto others, particularly your artist or piercer.
If you’re 18 years of age or older, one of the following pieces of ID will do:
Drivers License
State issued ID card
Military ID*
Passport
For client’s UNDER 18 years of age, please note certain services (& areas of the body) are age restricted. If we are able to accommodate, you will need the following:
A birth parent or court-appointed legal guardian must accompany you to the studio & remain physically present for the entire procedure.
A valid, government issued, photo ID (see list above) for both the parent/guardian AND minor child.
For the protection of the minor, if the parent/guardian & minor do not share the same last name, proof of guardianship is required (i.e. papers issued by the court showing divorce, adoption, legal guardianship, emancipation, etc.)
If the minor does not have an acceptable government issued ID, an original birth certificate along with a school photo ID is acceptable.
If no school photo ID is available, a yearbook with minor’s photo & listed name will work.
*Military ID’s are illegal to copy and for documentation reasons we are require by law to copy a form of photo ID. You may bring it in to receive the Military discount but we require a state issued or government issued ID to complete paperwork.
